A Tribute To The Hostel!

-Author: Hardik Rami
My first visit to the hostel was like an adventure in the new world.
I went to the E-block and I saw a completely novel environment…loud music was filling the air...people were chattering…TV room was thundering with voices (of course it was a cricket match).
But what I really liked is the liveliness…our hostel has a motto of “All for one…One for all!”
Now I love her...I feel myself at hostel…her rooms and all the residents say one thing that “let yourself live with reality and happiness” no one can feel alone & lonely at hostel…
Now some light on her beloved…
You may feel that hostelites are dull and dumb when you first see them…but appearance is a deception...hostelites are the real talented students of our college…not only academics but also they rock in every field…
As we know most of the toppers are from the hostel…we had GATE AIR 20 last year from hostel...and don’t forget a guy who went to IIM-C from LDCE, again the hostelite...! The SAE BAJA team is mostly comprised of the hostelites…
Our technical and cultural events find their life from the hostel…guys from C-block work for endless nights to make challenging robotics tracks for the Teqnix every year...And we see the most rocking robotic events better and better every time…even LEAF, JagteRaho and Vox Populi are the brain child of the hostel…
We have great sportspersons out there…I know a guy who has played county cricket at England…we have state champions in the table tennis, hand ball and football...not to forget many who had played state cricket…
Art and literature are getting respect & love…so many of the hostelites are awesome at painting, and sketch drawing…someone is writing a novel from his experiences!!! (If you are reading this, let me tell you, I consider you as a hostelite just like me…!) At least 10 languages are spoken in the hostel…
And ya music rocks in every block…music from every genre is popular…you can find Sufi and Rock playing at 3:00 am simultaneously with the cold breeze in the corridors…Nobody can beat them when it’s a matter of fashion…they are the coolest!
All the religions are worshipped…hostelites arranged Ganesha mahotsav and Saraswati puja every year…
To sum it up...we have great legacy and culture with the hostel...she is an integral part of the college…as the hostelites to our life…
These are the people living away from their families…but finding their new life and relatives at the hostel…pure by the hearts…sensitive and optimists…genius and artist…but mostly themselves…the real identity always…
So my all the friends at hostel…you are the guys who care for me selflessly…and same from myself…I will always remember the time I spend with you…I will never forget the sunset, I saw on the terrace, Night talking session at the cricket ground, on Nescafe and at the tank. And also the countless parties…!!!

let me remind u i m a localite...
this note is for them who doesnt know abt the hostel!!!

M4 - The "Rakhadpati"

Can the Mumbai rain stop 5 LDites to do "Rakhadpati" ??
NO!!

29th Day of August 2010, Sunday
It rained the whole night and even in the morning and it continued the whole day.
But it was 3 in the afternoon and it was time to do some Rakhadpati in Mumbai.
I was a bit reluctant in going out in this rain, but then all my LD mates were ready so we all set out for "Rakhadpati"
Me Raunak and Amit.
Mansarovar - Kurala - Dadar(the meeting spot, Kinnar joins us) - Church Gate

and then to Marine Drive in Taxi. It was raining heavily here and the scenic view from Marine Drive was awesome. We could hardly see the buildings the other side. Best, romantic and awesome place with awesome atmosphere. Was not carrying the camera or else I would have put up the pics. It was real fun to shout in the rain on the edges of wall. The crazy frog tune also drove me crazy. Tea added to the fun. We walked along the Marine Drive Lane towards the Nariman Point and back. Also saw Trident. (missed Bi-dent, Uni-dent and Pepsodent) Now it was time to fill up the bellies. Taxi to Chowpaty and enjoyed almost all the type of chats here. Pavbhaji and Panipuri and we were done. Finished it with a paan. The food was really awesome. Forgot the Ganesh Pavbhaji for a while after having pavbhaji here.
What did you do if you did not have Bhutta(Corn) at Chowpaty!! So Bhutta at Chowpaty in rain and strong winds. Watching the "Queen's Necklace"
The Marine Drive when lit up with street lights in the eve, appears like a Queen's DIAMOND Necklace and hence the name.

Next on the list was a famous bar and restaurant, "LeoPold". Awesome place to hangout. But its too expensive. Now it was getting to late so did not visit Taj. May be next Sunday.
So back to Churchgate.
Churchgate - Dadar - Kurla - Mansarovar.
And ending it with other recognizable 'feature' of LDite. Why to wait in a long queue, if there are Fotcuts(Shortcuts)? The passengers on getting out of the train were rushing to form a queue for rickshaw. "Discipline" as I mentioned in the previous post. We also joined the queue. But then we thought, 'we are LDite!'. Immediately called up a rickshawala and waited for him separately besides the queue. Within 2 minutes he was there to pick us up and we were back to the room quickly. That was the one of the most funniest moment of the day.
So its time now and have a swelling in the knee so got to take some rest.
All for the day. Bye...

M3 - THE TRAINS

28th Day of August 2010

Its 2 days I have been here in Mumbai, but i was not feeling that I am in Mumbai. But today after having experiences of Mumbai Local Trains, I feel that I am in Mumbai. I had heard much about the Mumbai Local Train and finally I got to know more about it.
Its really a good system. The entire rail has been divided broadly into 3 lines. Harbour, Central and Western. Map of the rail. Our route was from Panvel-Kurla-Dadar-Goregaon. And the best thing we experienced is, we did not wait for more than 5 minutes for any train. Among the other things for the benefits of the passengers is the ticket systems.
1st is the common ticket system. Take a ticket from start station to destination station.(2 classes are available here 1st class and 2nd class) You can also take return ticket from the destination.
2nd is the coupon system. One needs to buy ticket coupons(available in a range of Rs. 30/40/50 and may be some others too)
The passenger just needs to see the chart for the fare and he needs to get the coupons for that fare punched from coupon punching machines. Thats easy and quick. One doesnt have to wait for long queues.
3rd is a ATM type of ticket machine. Forgot the name. But one needs to show his pass and select the ticket details from the screen and get the ticket printed in few seconds.
Hats off to the Local Trains of Mumbai

Some more noticeable things here were the "Discipline" of the people here. Any local train here stops for nearly 10 seconds at any station. 5 seconds to get down, 5 seconds to board the train. First 5 seconds the people get down and the next 5 second people board it. The amazing thing is, whatever the strength of people getting in or out may be, they always do it in those 5 seconds available to them. Even the one who is coming to "THE TRAINS" for the first time goes along with the flow.
The people at Mansarovar, Panvel are even ahead in Discipline. While we came back after our whole journey it started raining at Mansarovar station. As soon as we came out, we saw a long queue of people waiting for something that too in rain. There was no vehicle, no rickshaw, nothing but the queue was waiting. After walking about 500 mtrs we saw some rickshaws coming. And to our surprise the long queue was waiting for rickshaws. So thats was really weird and new for us. A long queue that too waiting for Rickshaws. No we cant do that!!!

And some critics for the rickshaw walas in Goregaon. These guys are just bullshit. No one ready to go from station to Religare Diagnostic Centre which is not more than 1km from station. No one even answer to the call for rickshaw.

The entire day was amazing. Also met college friend at SP JAIN, Andheri West. Had a great time with him too.

Now I am in MUMBAI...!!!!
Ok now legs paining, so will take rest.
Bye...

When I see you with closed eyes.

When I see you with closed eyes,
You appear more beautiful than you are.

The time was in our favour but,
we were not with it.
Its now desert for me, and its spring for you,
You appear more beautiful than you are,
When I see you with closed eyes.

But it does not mean that night is over,
Or else I would not have seen you in the dawn
But that does not mean that night is over, otherwise I would not have seen you in the morning,
You appear more beautiful than you are,
When I see you with closed eyes.

Well, in fact it was only a dream of mine,
but then, I have seen you at my door step,
You appear more beautiful than you are,
When I see you with closed eyes.

Otherwise, I wont be like a dead-body floating in the sea,
but I think, even at the sea-coast I have seen you,
You appear more beautiful than you are.

When I see you with closed eyes,
You appear more beautiful than you are.

E 502

So finally, the day has come. I am leaving the "Jannat/Dream Room/E502/E001/JagteRaho HO/Xplode's Room"(Different names, same address, E 502, LDCE HOSTEL).

E 502 has a great importance in the life of all those who were somehow associated with it.

It was the room where each morning Ravi and Deep(myself) fought for Sudoku in Ahmedabad Times.
It was the room where Ashesh's height was the lowest(161.3cm)
It was the room where Mehul was mostly absent.
It was the room where Saurabh, stayed 4years illegally.
It was the room where Vasudev did not sleep the whole night only to help Ravi reach his examination hall, the next day.
It was the room where Chaitanya's masti made Brijesh laugh madly.
It was the room where Akash and Keyur made plans to sue "BUDDHA(Saurabh)"
It was the room where Nisarg & Boni always supported Akash & Keyur in their plans.
It was the room where Pratik silently saw everything.
It was the room where Jigar and Chintan spoke very less.
It was the room where NFS Most Wanted & Pocket Tanks became the hot favorite games.

It was the room where 3 D's lived.
It was the room which was always filled with Deepak's mimicry.
It was the room which always saw Devsi, awake till dawn.
It was the room where Nikunj never reached before 10am.
It was the room where Amit stayed only during exams(and always scored better than me).
It was the room where Pankaj played monkey tricks.
It was the room which did not have Kavan's bluetooth ghost.
It was the room where Juned never thought of parking.
It was the room where Aditya never stayed for more than an hour.
It was the room where Jiten, Jaimin, Shishir, Rahul & Sameer were always welcomed.
It was the room where Rami said "isko yeh pata hai ki ***** naam ki ek ladki hai aur woh LD** me padhti hai. I mean its just amazing." (After peteranswers answered a interesting question.)
It was the room from where Taral always took my Westsport Footwear.
It was the room where Malvik met Deepak.
It was the room where Krinal used to say "LOLS".
It was the room where Tiwari showed his Jalwa.
It was the room where Subhash used to come with his laptop before he did not have Speedigo.
It was the room whose Sanitary Facilities was Ashish Sharma's favourite.
It was the room where Ankit brought food items and I said "Khavanu Aaivu, Khavanu Aaivu"
It was the room whose list goes on and on...

It was the room where the executions to the plans for Xplode 2008 were carried out.(yes E 553, its brother was equally important)
It was the Head office of JagteRaho and Nammi.
It was the birthplace for Kryptos.
It was the room which saw many ups and downs, some small quarrels and lots of fun.
but
It is now a empty room where I can hear the echoes of the sound of keys when I type.
It is now just E 502.

Ek Shayri

Well this one was told by Sir, Mr. Mudassar Yahya. He is no more between us but his memories, his teachings, his one liners and his shayris will remain with us for ever. So this is an old one which he told us while we were studying in 12th Science.

"Magas ko baagh main jaane na dena,
Warna nahak hi parwane ka khoon hoga."

Magas is a Honey Bee
Parwane is an insect(moth)
Translation
"dont let the honey bee go in the garden or the moth will be killed."

Pride - Café Treat

The Pride Hotel, Ahmedabad
Judges Bungalow Road,
Off S.G. Road,
Ahmedabad, Gujarat
India - 380054.

P. +91 79 30115555
F. +91 79 30115566
E. frontoffice.ahmd@pridehotel.com

The Café Treat is a multi-cuisine restaurant + a coffee shop located on the ground floor of Pride. Its open 24/7. After the reception and the lounge area, there is an entrance to Cafe Treat.
The ambience here is just awesome. Has a varied seating arrangement. The live see through kitchen is the one which caught my attention.
Coming to the menu they have all the varieties of veggie and non-veggie items. Starting from soup and starters, salads, main course, sandwiches, pizzas and even deserts.
They also provide Buffet Breakfast, Buffet lunch, Buffet dinner and Buffet Midnight.

We(Me and my friend Nitin) went there after 9:30pm. It was 30th June and 2 of my friends were leaving the hostel after their graduation. So we had lots of fun the whole day. Our stomachs were full when we went there. So we did not go for Buffet. We ordered sandwiches, pizzas, cold coffee and dosa.
Pizza

Colde Coffee

The service was really very fast and good. They were taking proper care of each and every one and the food tasted very good. The pizza was far better than the dominos and US pizza. Sandwich and dosa were fab.
Overall, 10/10 for food.

I would suggest anyone reading this, do visit it once while you are in ahmedabad. May fall little heavy on your pockets but its "Paifa wafool"

KEH DO DOSTON YE DOBAARA KAB HOGA

Ek baar sab kaam ek taraf karke padhna.
Nice poem on the last day of college

Raah dekhi thi is din ki kabse,
Aage ke sapne saja rakhe the naajane kab se.
Bade utavle the yahaan se jaane ko,
Zindagi ka agla padaav paane ko.

Par naa jane kyon ..Dil mein aaj kuch aur aata hai,
Waqt ko rokne ka jee chahta hai.

Jin baton ko lekar rote the Aaj un par hansi aati hai ,
Na jaane kyon aaj un palon ki yaad bahut aati hai .

Kaha karte the ..Badi mushkil se char saal seh gaya,
Par aaj kyon lagta hai ki kuch peeche reh gaya.

Na bhoolne wali kuch yaadein reh gayi,
Yaadien jo ab jeene ka sahara ban gayi.

Meri taang ab kaun kheencha karega ,
Sirf mera sir khane kaun mera peecha karega.
Jahaan 2000 ka hisaab nahin wahaan 2 rupay ke liye kaun ladega,

Kaun raat bhar saath jag kar padega ,
KAUN MERI gaadi mujse pooche bina lejayega ,
Kaun mere naye naye naam banayega.

Wo haseen pal ab kis ke saath jiyoonga,

Aise dost kahaan milenge Jo khai mein bhi dhakka de aayein,
Par fir tumhein bachane khud bhi kood jayein.

Mere gaano se pareshaan kaun hoga ,
Kabhi muje kisi ladki se baat karte dekh hairaan kaun hoga ,

Kaun kahega saale tere joke pe hansi nahin aai ,
Kaun peeche se bula ke kahega..aage dekh bhai .

Movies mein kiske saath dekhhonga,
Kis ke saath boring lectures jheloonga ,

Kere farzee certificates ko raddi kehne ki himmat kaun karega ,
Bina darey sacchi rai dene ki himmat kaun karega.

Achanak bin matlab ke kisi ko bhi dekh kar paglon ki tarah hansna,
Na jaane ye fir kab hoga .

Doston ke liye professor se kab lad payenge ,
Kya hum ye fir kar payenge,

Raat ko 2 baje poha khane station kaun jayega ,
Tez gaadi chalane ki shart kaun lagayega ..

Kaun muje mere kabiliyat par bharosa dilayega,
Aur jyada hawa mein udne par zameen pe layege ,

Meri khushi mein sach mein khush kaun hoga ,
Mere gam mein muj se jyada dukhi kaun hoga...

KEH DO DOSTON YE DOBAARA KAB HOGA!

"One Word Is Too Often Profaned" - one of my favourites

Well, I read this one during my schooling.
And yesterday while we were having tea at the famous Rabdi(tea stall at our college) I and my friend Nikunj Kakkad - the nirdosh were recalling this one. So I thought of posting it today.
This is a famous one by P.B. Shelly.
You will like it.
here it goes...

ONE word is too often profaned
For me to profane it,
One feeling too falsely disdain'd
For thee to disdain it.
One hope is too like despair
For prudence to smother,
And pity from thee more dear
Than that from another.

I can give not what men call love;
But wilt thou accept not
The worship the heart lifts above
And the Heavens reject not:
The desire of the moth for the star,
Of the night for the morrow,
The devotion to something afar
From the sphere of our sorrow?

Patni - Campus Interview at DAIICT

Patni's Campus Interview was held at DAIICT on 6th of April, 2010.
www.patni.com
It was a joint campus interview with students from Nirma, DAIICT, SVNIT and LDCE.
Criteria: 60% in 10th, 12th and College.

The reporting time was 9:30 hrs at Lecture Room 3.
We were 20 minutes before time.
But the procedure stated only after 9:50 hrs.

First it was a pre-placement talk which lasted till 11:15.

The written test started at 12:00 hrs sharp. The test included 40 questions. 1/4 negative marking. With questions from passage, grammar, quant and data interpretation.
The test was really easy. I attempted 31 questions. The test ended at 13:00 hrs. And we were told to come back at 13:45 hrs. room for results. Thanks to the management of DAIICT and HR team of Patni, the result were announced on time.
21 students got selected from LDCE for PI(including me).

The further rounds were to be held in the CCP building. I and my friend(Amit) had gone for some refreshments. Due to which we got late for the next round. To everyone surprise the next round was email writing. We were given a situation on which we had to write an email. It was not an elimination round. We were also give forms to fill up. After all this we were to give our CVs and a passport size photograph. We both were late for this round but were the first to submit all the documents. So we were the among the first 5 to be called for the interview.
The other 3 included one LDite, Chirag, from IT. It was his first interview in his life and so he was very nervous. He was requesting HR coordinator to push back his interview to the last. But the coordinator was cool, she advised him not to get nervous. Even I and Amit told him not to worry much about the interview. And while we were talking he was called for the interview.
The interview was held in a room on the ground floor of CCP building. Initially there were 4 panels. And i was the 5th one. I waited for few minutes and Chirag came out from the interview. He was so happy and the glow on his face told me that his interview was really very good. I did not talk with him, because it was my turn now. I went inside the room, but was asked to wait outside the cabin as the HR was busy with Chirag's "HR formalities." From the opposite cabin I could hear Amit talking to hi HR. Amit was at his best. I could hear him making HR clear about his views on current Education System. I was not getting nervous(and that made me nervous...:D ).
Finally I was called in.
The interviewer was a very good person. He never fired any questions on me. He just asked me in a very simple and decent tone. I was asked some 13-14 questions and I made him clear on all my points. He was very happy with my performance and this made me more confident. My interview was totally HR. No, Technical Questions at all. Finally my interview ended. And was time to wait for the results.

Later the number of panels was increased to 8. And all the interviews were over by 19:00 hrs.
The result was to be mailed to the TPO the next day.

But the next day the Patni was on a campus at DDIT, Nadiad.
So the results were not declared on 7th, It was the 9th evening which came up with good news(from Vishali, IT dept.). We 3 friends got selected(Me, Kavan and Amit). 5 from Computer branch, 2 from IT and 2 from EC.
Overall it was a good experience. The management by the training and placement cell of DAIICT was really very good. Thanks to the TPO and his team.
And I am really happy with the results...:)

Tips:
1)For Written Test: Practice R.S. Aggrawal or solve TCS papers.(I did not do either)
2)For Interview: Just be confident and clear about your views regarding any topic, during the interviews.

"My Story" - R. Sriram @ LDCE

What a session at the end of the EDP by TiE and LAA at Aryabhatta Hall, L.D. College of Engineering.
Never thought in the morning that the session would be such delightful

The session began at 12:50 hrs, due to delay in Mr R. Sriram's flight.
It began with introductory session from Kaushal Mehta, President, TiE. He introduced the audience with the dignitaries, starting with Chirag Mehta, CEO, Icenet. Then coming to Mr. M. N. Patel, Principal, LD College of Engineering, followed by Mr. Anand Patel, Head of LAA, General Manager, Appolo. As well as introduction of Mrs Anu Sutariya, co-ordinator, TiE, Ahmedabad Chapter. The introductory session ended with brief of TiE and the Entrepreneur Development Program started by TiE and LAA at LDCE.

After the introductory session, started "My Story", by R.Sriram, co-founder, Crossword.
Through the session, he told us about how the idea of Crossword came up, how he managed through all the odds, how the Crossword came to Ahmedabad, the idea of book browsing, toilets and cafe at Crossword and also told how to target customers.

He summed up the entire session with the inspirational lines
"Risk more than others think is safe,
Care more than others think is wise,
Dream more than others think is practical,
Expect more than others think is possible."
-Claude T(homas) Bissell

This was followed by some Q&A from the audience which was equally interesting. To one of the question he said that "No one gives degree for failure". Elaborating more he said, one should not be afraid of failures. We should take it positively. Its a degree for knowing what not to do.
In an answer to another question he said he never decided 'what to do if the Crossword project fails". He never thought of Plan B. But he even added that what worked for him may not work for everyone.
To the end of the Q&A he advised one of the budding entrepreneur(who was desperate to enter into a Restaurant Business, but did not have capital) to work in the field he wants to start business in and gain experience in that field. Because only then a person gets insight of the business he wants to start.

The session thus ended. This was followed by a press conference in the TP(Training and Placement) Office!!! Yes!! Even i was surprised. A press conference being held in TP Office. Amazing!!!

After all this, it was time for lunch. All the TiE members were invited to the Amazo, Restaurant near St. Xavier's College, Ahmedabad.
We the EDP students were also invited. It was amazing moment for 6 of us. Having lunch with successful entrepreneurs and the Mr. Sriram too.
After the lunch, Mr. Sriram talked with all of us and gave some ideas about how can one be a successful entrepreneur. He said that entrepreneurship is 99% perspiration and 1% inspiration. Its a mystery. One has to explore and innovate. He also told about the vision and culture an entrepreneur should have. He also recommended us to read 'Making Breakthrough Innovations Happen' by Porus Munshi Summing up again with those 4 lines the 15 minutes discussion came to an end.
We all dispersed with handshakes and some humorous comments. That was all about some unforgettable moments of the day.
I wish such moments keep coming...

Cellad Eatery - the Buffet Station

colourles ???
or... is it the most
essential colour.
maximizing,
the minimal,
screaming quality,
reality in less pure,
striped bare, proud, fresh,
fashionably optimistic,
elegant with a vengeance,
untainted, unflawed...
the most colourful colour
in any pallet is... white.

are the lines, one reads, when he enters into the Cellad Eatery.

Cellad Eatery, located at the 4th Floor, City Square building, near Passport Office, just behind LD College of Engineering Hostel, University Road, Ahmedabad, is famous eatery for pure salads with no additives or flavours.

The 1800sq feet area of the top floor has been used very well and the interiors are brilliant.
The interiors go with the lines with the theme of the eatery. The walls and the ceiling are totally white.

A menu with a difference is what you will notice here too.

The variety of salad buffets available here are low calorie, hygienic and healthy. Apart from salad, they even provide with delicious pastas, sandwiches and deserts.

Salads ranging from ones with Sprouted Beans to Brocoli and other green vegs to Apple, Pine Apple added to the buffet menu.(well, i dont remember the names of the salads, but they were really tasty. I was confused which one to go for. I tried almost all of them.)

I had gone to this place first time with 2 of my friends. It was one of the best salad buffet i ever had.
The price compared to the healthy buffet is nominal.

With all the colourless colours, "Cellad Eatery - the buffet station" is really awesome place to enjoy the healthy food with your loved ones.

I TOO HAD A LOVE STORY

I too had a love story.
Author: Ravinder Singh

" Not everyone in this world has the fate to cherish the fullest form of love. Some are born, just to experience the abbreviation of it."

According to me words are just not enough to describe how i felt reading the book. I just completed the book, and was on my way to the dreamworld but could not, i had to write about it.

After i got the book i was not the one who read it first.it was my friend. On reading 1st chapter he said the book had nothing interesting and left it. But then also i read it and found he was wrong.

The story is about Ravin and his love Khushi. The story starts with a reunion of the four friends. During this, they discuss many things including their marriage. And after this reunion Ravins's life changes.

He gets in contact with Khushi through a matrimonial site.

The author, in its debut novel, beautifully describes the things happening between them. The story goes on at a moderate pace.

And towards the end the story takes a different turn, which ultimately leads to a very touching end.

The book with all the colors of loveship, is a must read for everyone who are wounded by the Cupid's arrow.

and really its a heart breaking one...

IF GOD WAS A BANKER

IF GOD WAS A BANKER
Author: Ravi Subramanian

In this book the author shows how NYB(New York International Bank) came up in India, with loans and plastic money.
Thanks to the 2 management gurus, Swami and Sundeep who along with Aditya, their boss laid the foundation for NYB's credit card Facilities in India.
Swami is a sensible person. While Sundeep is highly ambitious and aggressive.
Sundeep is ready for any compromises while doing business. While Swami prefers slow and steady growth. He is a man of 'Morals and Ethics'.

The author, with his fast pace takes us through the lives of both these management gurus, lives filled with power, position, women, ambition, wealth, success, pressure, failures, etc.
Towards the end Sundeep has to pay the punishments for all his misdeeds. The punishment might have ruined his life and family if GOD had not lend his helping hand.

The author, with his simple language conveys a message to the readers.
"Wrong moves may bring success for short time, but would ultimately lead to down fall"

Though the book becomes a bit boring in the middle part but overall the book is good.

Anything for You Ma'am - An IITian's Love Story

Anything for You Ma'am - An IITian's Love Story
Author: Tushar Raheja

In this book the author tells his own story when he was studying in IIT and when he was struck by Cupid's Arrow!!!
Yes, he falls in love with his sister's best friend. Her name is Shreya and she is from Chennai. The author(Tejas in the book) is from Punjab.
Tejas justifies the statement "Love is craziness"
He can do anything for Shreya.
He travel miles, bunking his industrial tour just to meet Shreya and on the other side, Mr. Fate plays roulette with him!!!

Author's vivid descriptions of the scenes(especially the Candlelight Dinner), makes the reader captive through the book.
From funny co-incidences to witty plots, to love, author has compiled a masala story in a very colloquial language.
Mr Fate's game and the S.A.L.A.D. makes the book interesting.

Not a must read type but then also...

TATA CRUCIBLE - The Campus Quiz 2010

TATA CRUCIBLE
The Campus Quiz 2010

Venue: H.K College
Timings: 12/3/2010, 1:30pm onwards

Reached the venue at 1:30
Went as 4 teams but found 3 more teams there.
So total 7 teams, 14 participants (including 1 lady luck and 1 non LDite) from L.D. College of Engineering, Ahmedabad.
The quizzing included prelim rounds, 2 wild card rounds and Final round.
Prelim rounds inlcuded 20 questions.
Amazingly non of the 7 teams qualified for the final round. Not even for the wild card round.(Lols...)

The Final Round: The battle was mainly between team from Nirma Institute of Management and the Defending Champions of Campus Crucible 2009-Ahmebabad, team from MICA.
The 20-20 format by the quizmaster PickBraing was amazing. The powerplay and the passed question gave a boost to MICA. But moving slowly was the NIM. And the battle went on to the final round, to the final question. And at the end NIM winning the intellectual battle.
2 of the most amazing moments:
1. The MICA girl kissing the MICA boy on the stage!!! No, no she was not kissing but just whispering into his ears. From the audience angle it seemed that she was just kissing him.
2. PickBrain asking about a product whose manufacturing was being done wrongly till recession times in India. And the whole audience burst into laughter when a guy from IIM-A explained how Condom fit into the answer. Finally PickBrain ending it as "For more details about the contraceptives contact that guy." Of course answer was correct. We too had a LDite with the answer. He was jumping on his seat but was not given chance. Guess who?

Baki ka comments pe disscussion hoga...;-)

P.S. Forgot to mention the chief guest of the day. Mr Jacob from TATA Chemical Ltd. Mithapur(and not Mitha - pur as prononced by PickBrain)

Five Point Someone – What not to do at IIT

Well, its a book about the students at IIT, but i really dont know if such things happen there. But the book is really good. Characters are really interesting. And CB has written the book in a funny, conversational style. The story is about 3 guys studying at IIT and the incidents which take place when they try to beat the system.

The book is a collection of human emotions. and CB has put them very well.
Must read for all collegians...

This book has also been the plot for the move 3 Idiots.
And the controversies regarding the movie has made both of them famous...

My name is Khan

A love story with a difference.

Its a movie about a muslim guy(Rizwan Khan) who suffers form Asperger syndrome(google it). And his life before and after the 9/11.
After the 9/11, a striking incident splits Rizwan from his wife Mandira. And to win back her love, Rizwan embarks on an inspiring journey across America to meet the President just to convey his message.

Sharukh Khan showing a brilliant piece of acting once again.
Songs of the movie are not that good.
The movie lacks action.
Good dialogues though.
